So what’s involved?
Before the actual walk, the brave participants will be given full training by a qualified instructor including safety advice, motivational techniques and potentially life changing exercises. Following the training you will then be ready to walk across 6 metres of burning embers. Your personal safety is paramount and every measure will be taken to ensure your safety at all times. The crowd will made up of your friends and family will be there to support you every step of the way.
Participants need to be at the venue a minimum of 2 hours before the event to allow for the training to take place. All participants are encouraged to invite as many friends, family and anyone that would like to watch this exciting event. At each event we strive to have additional activities such as raffles, quizzes and DJ’s to make the night even better for both walkers and watchers. On completion of the walk each participant will receive a certificate as confirmation of their amazing achievement.
Where does the money go and who benefits?
We have to cover the costs of the Fire Walk instructor, insurance and at times the venue hire. 100% of the funds raised from the event go directly to charity once the costs are paid. Currently all monies received go towards our phone lines to help us support all people that are affected by the illness. Publicity of the event helps so much to generate awareness and understanding of the illness and the support offered by Muted.
The Next Step?
From the list below, select the location that is most convenient to you and press on the link for further details. There is no cost to taking part in this amazing opportunity but in order to help the charity we ask that everyone try to raise as much sponsorship as possible so we can continue the great work we do.
